Drawing from successful careers at Christie’s, Lisa Hilderbrand and Jeanette Weldon founded Welhil Interiors in 2003. With their strong backgrounds in fine art, antique carpets and furniture, they create gracious, layered rooms imbued with richness, patina, subtle texture and unexpected details.
Their auction background has given them a buying savvy and confidence that allows them to put expense into the context of value and investment. Whether it’s discovering a diamond in the rough or bidding on a top lot at auction, Weldon says, “Our clients know when they hire us, they have an expert in their pocket.”
Weldon and Hilderbrand build a level of trust with their clients. They work with a keen sense of their clients’ demands and an intuitive ability to balance luxury and practicality. Ultimately, the results are classic interiors with a modern sensibility that evolve with their clients’ lives and tastes. They are elegant and approachable, always timeless and appear “undecorated.”
Both partners have Southern roots. Lisa is from Dallas, TX and studied Art History at the University of Virginia. Jeanette is from Mobile, AL and earned her masters from Sotheby’s in London after receiving an interior design degree from the University of Alabama. They are currently working on projects in Connecticut, San Francisco, upstate New York and Charleston, SC.
